Based
at Westwood Farm in Leek, Staffordshire, Leek &
District Gun Club is a friendly, committee run club that puts on
a 50-bird ESP shoot on the first Sunday of each month. The ever-changing
course is layed out in such a way as to test the more experienced
shooter while at the same time, encouraging the beginner. The club
has been running for some 50 years and is proud to boast an accident
free existence, much of which is down to the high standards demanded
by the appointed safety officer. |
| The course
is set in both wooded and flat land areas, which enables the designers
to put on some very varied birds indeed. From bolting rabbit to rising
teal to high pheasant and many many more. Although the terrain is
varied, access to the stands for disabled shooters is not impossible. |
 |
 |
| Every shoot has a trophy
up for grabs to fully paid members and cash prizes for the runners
up. The scores are calculated using a very effective handicap system
designed by our very own secretary. This means that all classes of
shooter compete at the same level and even if you hit 50 straight,
it does not guarantee that you are in with a chance of the trophy
or even the cash!! We also run a pool stand at every shoot. |

 |
We have
toilet facilities and some excellent refreshments, which include hot
sandwiches, oatcakes, and of course tea, coffee and soft drinks, all
of which are very reasonably priced. We also sell Cartridges. |
So now you know
